The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Celebrates Earth Hour

 Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain:

 The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa, joined the rest of the world to switch off all non-essential lights within the property for one hour on the 30^th of March 2019, to honor Earth Hour, the world’s largest public action towards environmental change.

During this one hour “Lights Out” period The Hotel featured poster, poetry and acoustic singing competitions and one of Bahrain’s leading school Nadeen School participated for these competitions, together with hotel in-house guests, visitors and colleagues.

The evening began with a countdown followed by a video presentation compiled by the children of Nadeen School, related to the saving MOTHER EARTH our environment and the evening ended successfully with the announcement of the winners and a group photo.

One of Nadeen School’s goals includes ensuring children have a sense of duty towards themselves, their community, and the wider, global community. We foster this by focusing on emotional wellbeing and self-awareness, being held accountable for our own actions, and developing community and environmental awareness.

Nadeen School’s eco group, The Planet Protectors, has been busy doing competitions for awareness posters, writing poetry, and composing and singing songs to promote its own motto: “Global leaders acting for their future, today!”

“We are always eager to participate in such communal and social activities, which complements our hotels corporate responsibility program”, Said Fares Yactine, General Manager, we have always been using the best practice with our ambition of saving energy for the good of mother earth he added.

In addition to switching off our non-essential lights in the property, we have reached out to convey the message to our in-house guests with assistance from the children of Nadeen School, who warmed our hearts through their environmental message through poetry, song and posters, which created a memorable moment for our guests, in an original, fun and responsible demeanor.

فندق الخليج البحرين يحتفل بساعة الأرض

 المنامة، مملكة البحرين:

 في يوم 30 مارس 2019، قام فندق الخليج البحرين للمؤتمرات وسبا، بمشاركة العالم في الاحتفال بساعة الأرض بإطفاء جميع الأنوار غير الضرورية ضمن مباني الفندق لمدة ساعة كاملة، وذلك مشاركة من الفندق لبقية العالم في ساعة الأرض وهذه الفاعلية هي أكبر فعالية عامة في العالم للمحافظة على الأرض ومواردها الطبيعية.

 خلال هذه الساعة، "ساعة الأرض" أقام الفندق مسابقة في الملصقات والأعمال الشعرية والأغاني. وقد شاركت مدرسة ندين، إحدى المدارس الرائدة في البحرين، في هذه المسابقة بالإضافة إلى زوار الفندق ونزلائه وموظفيه.

بدأت الأمسية بالعد التنازلي، تبعه عرض فيديو تم إعداده بواسطة طلبة مدرسة ندين، يتعلق بإنقاذ "أمنا الأرض"، والمحافظة على البيئة، واختتمت الأمسية بنجاح بإعلان الفائزين، والتقاط الصور الجماعية.

وقد حرصت مدرسة ندين على المشاركة في هذه الفعالية، حيث إنها تسعى لضمان شعور الأطفال بواجبهم تجاه أنفسهم وتجاه مجتمعهم، وكذلك تجاه المجتمع العالمي. كما أنها تسعى إلى ذلك من خلال التركيز على السلام النفسي، والوعي الذاتي، والشعور بالمسئولية تجاه تطوير المجتمع وعن الوعي البيئي.

انشغلت المجموعة البيئية في مدرسة ندين، "حماة الكوكب"، في إقامة مسابقات لملصقات التوعية، وكتابة الشعر، وأداء أغاني لنشر شعارهم الخاص "قادة العالم يعملون اليوم من أجل مستقبلهم".

وقد قال السيد/ فارس يقطين، المدير العام بالفندق: "إننا دائما متحمسون للمشاركة في مثل هذه الفعاليات الاجتماعية العامة، والتي تؤكد حرص الفندق مراعاة المسئولية الاجتماعية". وأضاف قائلاً: "إننا طالما استخدمنا أفضل الممارسات في سعينا لتوفير الطاقة، لصالح البيئة ومن أجل حماية أمنا الأرض".

بالإضافة إلى إطفاء جميع الإضاءة غير الضرورية في الفندق، فقد نشرنا الرسالة إلى جميع نزلائنا بمساعدة أطفال مدرسة ندين، الذين عززوا رسالتهم بشعرهم المؤثر، وأغانيهم وملصقاتهم. بحيث قدموا تجربة لا تنسى لزوارنا ونزلائنا، بطريقة أصيلة ومرحة وصادقة لكيفية تحمل المسئولية.
